I don't have much time for much of a post, but today's run was great. I'm trying to add the recommended 10% a week to my long runs to build up the mileage, so today ran about 5.5 miles/9 kms. I wanted to take it nice and slow. I was in a meeting all day yesterday and didn't drink much water, felt like I was coming down with a cold and thought the perfect cure was a few glasses of wine last night. That was followed by a horrible night's sleep and sleeping in today which is why I'm now short on time for the post and why I wasn't too optimistic about having a good run. Despite all of that, I had a great run. I ran most kms around 6:00/km which is slow for some, but a good pace for me! The second last km was straight into the wind and uphill and slowed me down a lot, so my overall pace was 6:10/km.
The weather report for the week ahead has a lot of wet snow, so it looks like I'll be heading back to the gym on Monday. This week has been a nice break from the treadmill and has helped to keep me motivated. Hopefully the sun is shining again by next Saturday's long run!
