Goal Achieved!

I set out today for my long run very prepared. I used Gmap Pedometer to figure out my km markers and wrote the landmarks on my hand. Not an exact science - KM 3 JPHF stood for "just past the honey farm," but still, better than not having a clue where I was between home and my turn around point at the boat launch. I planned to run 12 km, and just wanted to keep each km between 6:00 and 6:15.

The first kilometer I was going way too fast (again), but I slowed down and got to my turn around point at just over 35 minutes, so still faster than my goal pace, but not crazy. I was feeling pretty tired by that point but still managed to keep the next couple of kms under 6 minutes, and then all of a sudden I had a huge cramp/heart attack feeling. I slowed down, but didn't walk, hit a downhill and felt better. I hit the 10 km mark at 59:54! My goal for a long time has been to run 10 km in under an hour! Yippee!!!

That made the last 2 kms easy, and I was home at 1:11:10.

That deserves a reward, I say! Going to see what lululemon.com has for me, right now!
