I planned to go to the gym today and run the same intervals that I ran last week. 10 minutes slow, 2 minutes 1.0 points faster on the treadmill, 2 minutes slow, 2 minutes fast, etc. four times then 10 minuts slow and round out the 4 miles.
Betcha think I'm gonna say that I slacked off and threw those plans out the window in favour of a nice slow slacker run!
Nuh-uh! After the first 10 minutes slow, I was feeling a little daring, and upped the speed to 6.6 instead of 6.5, and I ran at that speed for 2.5 minutes instead of 2, and then ran slower for 2, and then at 6.6 for 2.5, and slower for 2, then I ran faster for 3 minutes and slower for 2, and then because I was feeling so great, I ran faster again for another 3 minutes, then slow, then finished off with a final 10 minutes, considered continuing up to 5 miles, but thought I better quit while I was ahead! I got off the treadmill with a smile on my face! I love it!
