10.10.10
Royal Victoria Marathon.
I'm registered.
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeek!
Today was the last day for early registration. I've been looking at the website every week for several months now and almost every day for the past week. Today, I finally registered. Saving 10 dollars pushed me over the edge! I debated about registering for the early start for those who will take longer than 5 hours and 30 minutes to finish the marathon, but I don't want to take 5 hours and 30 minutes to finish the marathon. And if I register for that time and then finish in less than 4:45, I'd get disqualified. It's my first marathon so I might still take over 5 hours to finish, but I don't want to start training thinking that way.
At Thanksgiving dinner, I will be able to say, "I am thankful for completing my first marathon." I can't wait!
I went out for a short 5K run today and ran one of my usual routes backwards. Funny how this feels like a flat route going the other way, but seemed to have lots of uphills going in the direction I ran today. I meant to run slowly, but somehow went at a speedier pace than planned. Oops! I felt comfortable and didn't look at my watch at all the entire time, so I was surprised to see my pace when I finished.
I have a long run scheduled for tomorrow morning, a haircut booked for the afternoon, dinner with friends tomorrow night and another hiking adventure planned for Sunday. Should be a great weekend!
TGIF!
CONGRATULATIONS! 10-10-10... what a great day to run a marathon!
