1. A.W.E.S.O.M.E hike on Sunday. We forgot the camera, but there was snow up past my knees, and the sun was shining and it was just a beautiful day. The BF and I followed a trail that had been packed by a snowmobile for about a kilometer, then the packed part ended and we just waded our way through the snow. We followed a frozen creek, and got into an area where it looks like mountain bike trails are being developed, then found our way back into familiar territory and a trail again. Ever tried running in snow 2 feet deep? Now that's a workout!
2. Group run on Tuesday was balmy. Yes, you read that right. I left my house and it was -5*C, but as we ran it warmed up. It wasn't just me getting warmer, the temperature outside was actually going up. As we entered a field at the bottom of a hill a wall of warm air hit us and for about 5 minutes it felt like we were running on a humid, summer day. We left the warm patch, but by the end of the run it was 2*C! I've never felt such an extreme temperature change, have you?
3. I am getting siiiiiick. Those crazy hours I worked last week have definitely caught up to me. Still, I went out for 4 miles today while the temperature was still above 0*C. I felt great while running, but the coughing started full on once I stopped. Here's hoping a good night's sleep is all I need to fight it off!
Very strange with the major temp change! It can be so hard to dress this time of year. Too hot, too cold, too hot, too cold.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better!
